REPORTS TO: Director of Dietary ServicesPay Scale: $21.00 /hour Non exemptDESCRIPTION OF POSITIONParticipate in provision of quality meals and nutritional services to patients, staff and guests.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:Assemble and prepare food and snacks as directedOrganize and deliver prepared food to patient areasProperly process, store, and prepare food on a tight timelineMaintain high level of kitchen sanitation related to food preparation, dish room activities and employee's personal hygieneConsistent documentation of food labeling, dating and kitchen proceduresServe behavioral health patients and staff with a friendly and helpful demeanor at all timesParticipates in activities which enhance professional growth and developmentPerforms related duties, as requestedUpholds the Organization's ethics and customer service standardsRequirementsKnowledge and Experience:High school diploma or equivalent requiredFood Safety Handler Card required at time of hire and to be maintained throughout employmentMust be able to concentrate on work amidst distractions such as noise, conversations and foot traffic; must be able to consistently meet deadlines; and finish work at specified serving time; must be flexible in work hours in order to meet patient and organization operating needsMust maintain self-control in volatile or hostile customer services interactionsMust be able to give and follow verbal and written instructions with attention to detail and accuracyCommunicate effectively in person or via telephone in a manner which can be understood by those with whom the person is speaking, including a diverse populationMust be able to read, write, and communicate in EnglishMust be able to use kitchen equipment such as knives, slicers, mixers and dishwashers; knowledge of the hygiene factors involved in food preparationMust be able to work independently, in a result-restricted physical environment for extended periods of timeMust have ability to perform several tasks concurrentlyReach forward, up, down, and to the sideStand for minimum periods of one hour at a timeLift up to fifty (50) poundsPreferred Experience:Food service in a treatment center, health care, or hospital setting.BenefitsMedicalVisionDental401(k)3.5 Weeks Paid Time Off$25,000 Life insurance policy is provided at no charge to the employee
