The successful candidate will provide comprehensive patient care in both inpatient and outpatient settings, focusing on minimally invasive, image-guided procedures. Key ResponsibilitiesClinical Care:Conduct comprehensive patient assessments including history taking, physical examinations, and review of imaging studiesPerform pre-procedural evaluations and obtain informed consent for interventional radiology proceduresProvide post-procedural care and monitoring in recovery areasManage patient care during interventional procedures under physician supervisionDevelop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with the interventional radiology teamProvide patient and family education regarding procedures, risks, benefits, and post-procedure careProcedural Support:Assist with minimally invasive procedures including but not limited to:Vascular interventions (angioplasty, stent placement, embolization)Drainage procedures (abscess, pleural, biliary)Biopsy procedures (CT-guided, ultrasound-guided)Pain management interventions (nerve blocks, joint injections)Dialysis access proceduresPerform minor procedures independently as permitted by state regulations and institutional protocolsMaintain sterile technique and radiation safety protocolsAdministrative Duties:Complete accurate and timely documentation in electronic medical recordsCoordinate care with referring physicians and other healthcare team membersParticipate in quality improvement initiatives and departmental meetingsMaintain continuing education requirements and professional developmentRequired QualificationsEducation & Certification:Master's degree from an accredited Physician Assistant programCurrent state licensure as a Physician AssistantCurrent BLS and ACLS certificationDEA registrationExperience:Minimum 3 years of clinical experience in interventional radiology procedures preferredExperience with fluoroscopy and radiation safety protocols preferredSkills & Competencies:Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skillsExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-acuity environmentProficiency with electronic medical records systemsStrong attention to detail and organizational skillsAbility to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary teamPreferred QualificationsBoard certification in relevant specialty areaPrevious experience in interventional radiology or vascular surgeryAdditional certifications in advanced cardiac life support (ACLS) or trauma life supportExperience with EMR systemsWork EnvironmentHospital-based position with both inpatient and outpatient responsibilitiesExposure to radiation requiring adherence to safety protocolsFast-paced environment with emergency and urgent casesBenefits PackageCompetitive salary commensurate with experienceComprehensive health, dental, and vision insuranceRetirement plan with employer matchingPaid time off and continuing education allowanceProfessional liability insurance coverageOpportunities for professional development and advancementAbout Ascension Saint Thomas River Park HospitalLocated in McMinnville, TN125 licensed bedsOffers 24/7 Hospitalist Onsite CoverageVery busy Emergency Department staffed by ED certified physiciansAcute Care Floor as well as 10-bed Geropsych Unit and 15-bed Physical Rehabilitation UnitAbout McMinnvilleWe are located approximately 45 minutes East of Murfreesboro on the edge of the Cumberland Plateau.McMinnville's central location makes it an ideal base for exploring beautiful Middle Tennessee.McMinnville has been known for years as the nursery capital of the world. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.Physician Assistant credentialed from the Tennessee Committee on Physicians Assistants obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.Education:Graduate of accredited Physician Assistant program.
