Chemist II

Job DescriptionThe Chemist II will utilize their scientific education and analytical chemistry experience to perform simple to moderately complex laboratory testing within a good manufacturing practices laboratory. The role involves generating results and interpreting data output to determine conformance to specifications. The Chemist II will act as a team member in the API/Raw Material/In-Process/Drug Product testing laboratories.Responsibilities+ Independently perform and verify a multitude of laboratory techniques for which they are trained, adjusting to unforeseen technical or logistical obstacles to accomplish assignments.+ Understand multiple laboratory techniques and principles, and independently troubleshoot and resolve analytical techniques and instrument issues.+ Take initiative to be a key player in team activities and decision making, including proactive identification, development, and implementation of improvement plans.+ Budget time independently and effectively to carry out assigned tasks and make recommendations for improvement.+ Recognize obstacles to completion of assigned testing and independently resolve them, consistently achieving commitments despite obstacles.+ Take ownership of special projects as needed to support overall laboratory needs and requirements.+ Communicate proactively with supervisor and team members to ensure timely product delivery and compliance during audit activities as needed.Essential Skills+ Bachelor's Degree in the sciences with 3+ years of laboratory experience+ Direct lab experience with HPLC and LCMS+ GMP experience+ Attention to detail+ Problem-solving skillsJob Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of North Chicago, IL.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
