Hours5.95 Hours/DayJob DescriptionTitle: Food Service AssistantOrganizational / Labor Relationship: Collective Bargaining Agreement East Penn School District and Foodcrafters Assocation ESP/PSEA/NEA of the East Penn School DistrictStatus (FLSA): 10 month position, non-exempt, hourlyReporting Relationships: Ascending Food Service Leader; descending - nonePosition Summary: To assist in all areas of food service as assigned by the Coordinator or Leaders.Qualifications: Possesses a valid Pennsylvania driver's license at all timesEducation: High school graduate or GED equivalentKnowledge / Skills / AbilitiesAbility to understand and carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructionsAbility to read, write and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memosIs able to independently read, write, speak and comprehend the English languageAbility to communicate courteously, efficiently and effectively with a variety of individuals, including students, staff, administrators, parents and representatives of outside organizationsAbility to work cooperatively and effectively with peers, supervisors, parents and outside agenciesDependability, punctuality and initiative are essentialGood personal hygieneEssential Functions / Duties / ResponsibilitiesFollow all HACCP and USDA food policies and regulationsMaintain accurate and complete daily production records (meal counts, etc.)Rotation of all food service jobs as assigned daily including line prep, food prep, set up, cashier, clean up, dish room, catering, server and stock roomAll other duties as assignedPhysical RequirementsAbility to stand, bend, stoop, sit, lift, reach, communicate (vision, hearing, and speech), carry or convey sufficient weight to safely and effectively carry out functions, duties, and responsibilitiesAbility to independently ambulate in and around school buildings and office areasAbility to independently arrive at the designated work site and adhere to the established work scheduleCan stand/walk for lengthy periods of timeThis job description may be updated and/or altered at the sole discretion of the employer.
