Duties And ResponsibilitiesConduct mobile vehicle patrols, foot patrols, and static post assignments across campus, training facilities, and housing buildingsRespond to incidents, fire alarms, alarms, and safety concerns in a timely and professional mannerEnforce campus policies and inform students of violations in a respectful, educational mannerPerform preliminary, non-criminal investigations and gather relevant informationPrepare accurate incident reports, patrol logs, and documentation for student and institutional recordsServe as a Campus Security Authority (CSA) under the Clery ActMaintain confidentiality and comply with FERPA and institutional policiesAnswer housing-related phone calls and assist students and staff as neededReport maintenance or safety issues promptly to ensure timely resolutionAssist with campus registration, housing check-in, and Student Life eventsSupport down-week operations, including cleaning, room assignments, and general assistanceRequirementsQualifications (A combination of the following experience and training, or the equivalent, would be qualifying):Be solution-oriented, resourceful, and proactive with a strong sense of responsibility and ownership.Strong working knowledge of Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.Advanced ability to work independently and must be able to organize and demonstrate initiative.Must be able to handle and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.A positive attitude and strong work ethic.Excellent customer service skills.Excellent communication skills (written and oral) with a consultative style.Ability to promote/maintain a cooperative work environmentAbility to adapt to changing work requirements and priorities that may require overtime or extended hours.Physical & Work Environment RequirementsAbility to walk, stand, and patrol for extended periodsAbility to lift and carry moderate to heavy itemsAbility to respond quickly and effectively to emergenciesAbility to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditionsRequirementsMinimum RequirementHigh school diploma or equivalent from an academic institution accredited by a regional or national accrediting agency that is recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.Experience in Safety and Security in any capacity, with preference to experience at a higher education learning institution.Current Driver’s License.Knowledge of Microsoft Office.Why WyoTechWork with students to make a difference in their lives.Work with a great company that supports not only their staff but the community as well.Team building.Tuition reimbursement.Competitive benefit package.PTO and paid holidays.401K.Health insurance - vision and dental included.Life and short-term disability.The Laramie community has the small-town charm with big city events.
