Job OverviewUses machines and equipment to assist with manufacturing, while performing specialized tasks to create and produce a standard or customized product.A Day In The LifePerforms typical machine shop and press operationsOperates a press production, braid winding, lathe or crimping machine in accordance with established procedures and guidelinesRead, interpret and follow basic blueprints, diagrams, manufacturing drawings, bills of material or other written instructions or procedures.Accurately record number of parts produced both good and scrapUtilize hand tools such as a hand held screw driver and drill gunsMaintain inventory of product in work stationsMust perform quality work checks to insure the product meets quality standardsIdentify product defects and report itMaintain safety, quality, productivity and housekeeping standards as requiredMaintain accurate and timely dataReport any safety problems, hazards, accidents and near misses to managementMust be able to adjust machine settings as necessary to complete assigned taskProperly use safety equipment, including machine guarding, interlocks and safety curtains are working properly or report itMust be able to troubleshoot and resolve simple quality product issuesWhat will help you thrive in this role?Ability to read and interpret tape measure or measuring devicesPrevious Machine Operator experience preferredAbility to read, speak and understand EnglishCapable of basic math skillsAbility to follow basic directionsAbility to use basic hand toolsAbility to use critical thinking and reasoning to solve problemsMay be on your feet up to 50% of the time depending on job assignedAbility to work well together with others, collaborate and work independentlyAbility to get along with others creating a positive environmentHubbell IncorporatedHubbell creates critical infrastructure solutions that power our customers, communities, people and the planet.
