Position Summary/Class DescriptionBRIEF DESCRIPTION:A variety of instructional fitness and aerobics classes of varying intensities are offered throughout the county such as: dance aerobics, step aerobics, circuit weight training, aquatic Zumba, kick boxing and toningDutiesESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESTo teach, aquatic water aerobics or fitness class consisting of various age groups and abilities. Must demonstrate proper workout techniques and safety procedures, oversee use of facilities and keep records of class attendance. Must select own music and exercises to use in class. SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS:Sufficient skill in a specific area, ability to develop a teaching plan for a diversified group of people, ability to demonstrate effective aerobic exercise skills and to communicate directions effectively. Fitness Certification required and Aquatics Fitness certification required for all water fitness programs.ExperienceMINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCEAt least two (2) years teaching and/or participating in/experience with specific program area.EducationPossess a nationally recognized certification or state license pertaining to the specific activity. Possess basic First Aid and CPR certification. Community first aid certification preferred but not required.
