Weld Supervisor
Weld Supervisor 2nd ShiftThis supervisory position is responsible for production, safety, quality, and efficiency throughout the plant. Provides leadership, direction, and instructions for the unionized workforce. This position also acts as a liaison between production, departments upstream and downstream, and the administrative staff. This is a rotation shift supervisory position.Primary responsibilities include:Leading projects through completion within the schedule and budget constraintsMaintaining the forecast and schedule for the department, based on the project workload and constraint datesEnsuring that the applicable company ISO standards are adhered toCommunicating before and after each shift with other supervisorsCollecting, evaluating, analyzing, and assessing production dataCollaborating with other managers and supervisors to coordinate activities in and among departmentsRegularly inspecting and evaluating products for quality and defectsIdentifying and correcting problems and inefficiencies in process, materials, equipment, or skillsEnsuring compliance with federal, state, local, and organizational laws, regulations, guidelines, and best practices, including those related to safety and healthPlant housekeepingAssisting in determining raw material needs, inventorying, and pulling of materials for uninterrupted productionEmployee trainingInvestigating, reconciling, and root cause problem solvingLeading and improving a team through daily communicationBeing very self-organized and self-motivatedAll other duties as assignedKnowledge and skills required include:Working knowledge of Lean/Six Sigma preferredPrevious industrial experience of 2-4 years requiredKnowledge of AWS welding standardsStrong root cause and troubleshooting capabilities expected to be a technical expertPrevious experience with MIG/TIG/Stick weldingPosition requirements:Ability to adapt to changeAbility to utilize interpersonal and communication techniques, working in a team environment, and dealing with a wide variety of personalities and communication stylesWillingness to take on responsibilities and challengesAbility to prioritize and multitaskAttention to detailExcellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlinesStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsStrong supervisory and leadership skillsAbility to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environmentPhysical job demands:Ability to lift 60 lbs., work in extreme hot and cold weather, must stand for long periods of time, will be exposed to loud noise levels, and operate hand and power tools for long periods of time. Work in an environment with dirt, grease, and dust.Prolonged periods of standing and walking through the factoryPeriods of sitting at a desk working on computersVisual acuity to inspect products and machineryWorking conditions:This is a second shift position, Monday through Friday.
