HVAC Technician Assistant - Truck Driver

In this role, you will be assisting in the diagnosing, repairing, and performing preventative maintenance for commercial and industrial HVAC equipment. The responsibilities will increase based on exposure to tasks, ability to develop troubleshooting skill set, and consistent and accurate completion of assignments. The HVAC equipment you will be servicing includes but is not limited to large and small rooftop units, split systems, chillers, and boilers. Come be a part of an exciting journey at Daikin Applied, where innovation and excellence drive our every endeavor!Location: Boston, MAWhat you will do:Assist in the maintenance of commercial HVAC equipment including logging machines, cleaning coils, brushing tubes, replacing filters, replacing belts and proper lubricationDrive a company vehicle if required to and from the jobsite (across states, as required) to transport and maintain inventory of hand tools and necessary materials for job completionGeneral warehouse duties as assignedAssist with repair and replacement of defective equipment, components, or wiring related to fan coils, water source heat pumps, applied air handling units, rooftop units, cooling towers, and condenser tubesAssist with rebuilds HVAC & applied equipmentReceive detailed direction while sharing the hands-on task responsibilities with Technicians II, III, and LeadDemonstrate professionalism in appearance, verbal, and written communicationInteract with customer by offering status reports of service before, during, and after each callBasic data entry and ability to navigate a computer or smart phone for use of email, internet, Microsoft applications and other tools as requiredWear company uniform and required safety PPE, perform job hazard analysisEnsure standards, policies, procedures, and maintenance of a clean work area are always upheldFollow all OSHA and Daikin Applied safety policies and proceduresWhat's in it for you:Online Training Courses, or other professional on the job training in the HVAC IndustryThe opportunity to work on all types of commercial equipment and cutting-edge technologies such as Intelligent EquipmentThe ability to make an impact and shape your career with a company that is passionate about growthThe support of an organization that believes it is vital to include and engage diverse people, perspectives, and ideas to achieve our bestThe opportunity to work for a leading innovator in HVAC and make a difference in environmental initiatives to create a more sustainable world for allMinimum Qualifications:High School Diploma or GEDRequired license(s) and/or training card as required by local law districtWork visa sponsorship is not available for this positionClean drivers record -Preferred Qualifications:Commercial HVAC Industry ExperienceAssociates degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school, with a certificate in Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning or currently enrolled in a programEPA approved Universal Technician CertificationCurrent first aid / CPR cardThe expected hourly rate for this position is $20 - 23+ in MA. The rate is subject to the amount outlined in the CBA and could change based on the level offered.
