Access Controls Estimator

Title: Parking Technology Estimator / Business Development ManagerLocation: San Diego, CACompensation: $85,000-$95,000 plus commission incentivesWe are seeking an experienced and driven Parking Technology Estimator / Business Development Manager to support continued growth throughout Southern California and Arizona. This role is responsible for developing new business opportunities within the parking technology sector for commercial construction projects while managing the complete sales and estimating process from lead generation through project closeout.The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in parking technologies, commercial construction sales, estimating, and relationship management. This individual will also receive exposure and training across APS’ broader portfolio, including gate automation, access control, video surveillance, and service solutions.This is a high-impact, revenue-generating position that combines technical estimating, consultative sales, account management, and strategic business development.Key ResponsibilitiesBusiness Development & SalesManage the full sales cycle, including:Lead generationProspecting and networkingSite walks and customer consultationsSystem design and estimatingProposal preparation and presentationFollow-up, negotiation, and closingDevelop and execute an annual business plan focused on expanding parking technology opportunities throughout Southern California and Arizona.Present the initial business plan to APS leadership within the first 90 days of employment.Meet or exceed established sales goals, quotas, and performance metrics.Participate in industry networking events, trade organizations, and daily prospecting activities.Estimating & Project DevelopmentPerform accurate estimating and conceptual system design for parking technology projects.Collaborate with clients, vendors, subcontractors, and internal teams to develop project solutions and resolve technical or operational issues.Maintain organized and up-to-date project documentation, estimates, and proposal records.Account ManagementManage customer relationships throughout the project lifecycle to ensure successful execution and customer satisfaction.Build and maintain strong relationships with:General contractorsSubcontractorsParking operatorsDevelopersHospitality groupsEngineers and architectsProperty owners and managersDevelop and maintain a current directory of clients, suppliers, contractors, and strategic partners.CRM & Marketing SupportMaintain accurate pipeline activity and opportunity tracking within APS’ CRM system in real time.Support marketing initiatives by contributing project case studies, sales collateral, and other marketing content.Develop strategic partnerships with technology manufacturers and subcontractors.QualificationsExperience in parking technologies, parking revenue systems, or related low-voltage/security industries preferredStrong background in commercial construction sales and estimatingProven ability to generate new business and close complex projectsExcellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skillsStrong organizational and time-management abilitiesProficiency with CRM platforms and Microsoft Office applicationsAbility to travel regularly throughout Southern California and ArizonaValid driver’s license and clean driving record preferredWork Schedule & TravelStandard working hours are 8:00 AM – 4:30 PMFlexibility is required to accommodate customer meetings, project schedules, and sales activitiesFrequent local and regional travel throughout Southern California and Arizona is requiredCompensation & BenefitsCompetitive base salary plus commission structureCompany laptop, phone, and credit cardComprehensive medical, dental, vision, and 401(k) benefitsPaid time off and company holidaysCareer growth opportunities within a rapidly expanding organization
