Job TypeFull-timeDescriptionMartin/Martin, Inc. is looking for structural Engineer-in-Training (EIT) to join our Structural Engineering Group in our Vail, Colorado office.This engineer will have the opportunity to work on a broad range of project types with many different structural materials. This position will provide opportunities to gain experience in both new building structural design and existing building investigations and retrofits.A typical work week can include engineering calculations, drawing development, Construction Administration tasks, and site visits. This position allows for interactions with owners, architects, and contractors early in your career as you build relationships throughout the project life cycle. Walton School of Medicine, and Harborcenter.ResponsibilitiesKnowledge and use of computer design and CAD/BIM softwarePrepares details and calculations for project components and systemsLearns about products and construction proceduresPrepares and writes reportsProvides field observation during constructionStudies and applies building code and/or jurisdictional requirementsReviews shop drawings and product submittalsChecks own workCoordinates work with other disciplinesActs proactively and proposes potential solutions to problemsWorks overtime, when necessaryOther duties as assignedRequirementsRequired Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET accredited engineering curriculum in Architectural, Civil, Environmental, Construction, Structural, or related engineering fieldHas passed Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Examination0-4 years' experienceMust be eligible to work for any employer in the United States, without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future.Ability to work in the Vail area. Relocation reimbursement may be provided, depending on the role and job function.Desired QualificationsMaster's degree in engineering from an ABET accredited engineering curriculum in Architectural, Civil, Structural, or related engineering field.GPA of 3.5 or higherWorking knowledge of building and material design codesExperience using computer design and graphics software for building structural design and documentation (AutoDesk REVIT, RAM, SAP, ETABS, RISA, etc.)Excellent time management and organizational skillsStrong written and interpersonal communication skills with a commitment to client service and a team-based approachConstruction field experienceExperience programming in Grasshopper, Python, Dynamo, SQL, C#, C++, VBAWorking Conditions, Skills, And AbilitiesThis position is primarily technical in nature and requires working inside and outside the office to complete a wide range of activities. The following abilities are required:Move inside or outside the office and on non-ADA accessible construction sitesRemain stationary for long periods of timeRepetitive movement on tasks such as using a keyboard or mouseCarry, ascend, and descend a ladderIdentify colorRead, communicate, and document in EnglishDetermine and exchange accurate informationOccasionally move or hold equipment weighing up to 50 poundsCompensationThe wage range for this role considers the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs.Base Salary: For individuals hired in Colorado, a reasonable estimate of the current range for this role is $79,000 to $94,000 annually.Base Salary Review: This role is eligible to participate in Martin/Martin’s annual base salary increase review process.Annual Bonus: This role is eligible to participate in a discretionary annual bonus program.
