IT Security Analyst Student Worker (Federal Work Study eligible Regent University students only)
Responsibilities
Essential Functions
Assist with Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) activities
Support vendor risk assessment processes
Monitor and review Google Workspace alerts and dashboards
Review security tool dashboards including SentinelOne, Varonis, and Proofpoint
Conduct research on emerging security threats, vulnerabilities, and best practices
Support Student SOC initiative
Organize and maintain the Information Security Department's SharePoint site
Additional Responsibilities
Participate in monthly Digital Forensics and Incident Response (DFIR) lab trainings
Participate in security projects such as tabletop exercises, phishing simulations, and security assessments
Help maintain security documentation including SOPs and playbooks
Support incident response activities by gathering information and documenting findings as able under supervision
Requirements
Qualifications
Must be a current student at Regent University only
Must be Federal Work Study eligible
Currently enrolled student majoring in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field
Familiarity with common security tools and technologies (SIEM, EDR, firewalls)
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Self-motivated with ability to work independently and as part of a team
