EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR Location: Fallbrook, CA Type of Employment: Full-Time, Salary Reports to: President & COO Date: May 2024 Initial Annual Salary Range: $130,000 - $145,000 per year. Silvergate Fallbrook is actively seeking an experienced Executive Director (ED) to oversee and manage all operational aspects of this premier senior living community located in the beautiful, rural community of Fallbrook, CA. This position will serve as the general manager and administrator of a state-licensed retirement community that provides independent living, assisted living and memory care services to its residents. The Executive Director is responsible for the overall performance, ongoing management, and administration of the community. As the top manager, leader, and face of the community to staff, residents and neighbors in Fallbrook, the ideal candidate for this position is a seasoned, professional, and compassionate individual who possesses the qualities of a skilled and effective leader. Silvergate Fallbrook is owned and operated by AmeriCare Health & Retirement, Inc., a family run local San Diego based company, which has developed and managed the Silvergate Retirement Residence communities for nearly 40 years. Silvergate is one of three existing Silvergate communities in San Diego County, joining its sister communities in Rancho Bernardo and San Marcos. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES Leadership and General Management Effective implementation and achievement of management goals and objectives. Overall management of day-to-day operations. Successful recruitment and training of senior management and supervisory personnel. Organizational planning and program development. Implementation of training and quality control programs. Sales Management Manage the performance, evaluate, and supervise the on-site sales team. Complete sales performance reports that track occupancy and financial goals. Execute community marketing plan in coordination with the home marketing team. Manage, participate, and direct on-site sales and marketing events. Develop community relationships with local organizations and groups and serve as the representative of Silvergate in the Fallbrook community. Financial Management Assisting in the development of the annual budget. Managing operations to achieve budgetary objectives. Establishing necessary controls and procedures to assure the proper charges for services rendered and collection of all billed accounts receivable. Effective implementation of the sales objectives and occupancy targets necessary to achieve budget revenues. Resident and Family Relations Use of compassion and understanding in dealing with the problems and needs of residents and family members. Effective resolution of issues involving the determination of a resident's level of care and monthly charge for such services. Making sure that the operational focus of day-to-day activities is on exemplary customer service. Assuring the proper care and supervision of all residents. Regulations, Policies & Procedures Compliance with all applicable State of California, Department of Social Services, and local licensing rules and regulations. Compliance with all AmeriCare and Silvergate policies and procedures. Communications Ability to communicate with staff to understand problems, give directions, implement necessary action, and evaluate individual performance. Ability to communicate with residents and family members to understand and effectively resolve problems. Ability to communicate with State licensing representatives and other government authorities to understand and effectively resolve problems. Ability to assist sales and marketing efforts in the effective promotion of Silvergate. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES Senior management including Director of Resident Care, Director of Marketing, and Business Office Manager; and operating supervisors including Food Service, Dining, Housekeeping, Maintenance, Activities, and administrative staff. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS Certification. Certificate from the State of California as an RCFE Administrator. Experience. Minimum two years’ experience as the executive director or administrator of a RCFE and at least five years of experience in the senior management of a RCFE. Previous experience in sales/marketing or business office operations is also highly preferred. Management. Strong experience in management and operations of healthcare organizations, including leadership, operational planning and organization, budget preparation and control, supervision of senior staff, and community relations. Leadership. Demonstrated leadership skills in general management, budget preparation, organizational planning, program development, and delegation of authority and responsibility. Decision Making. Demonstrated judgement, common sense, and decision-making skills. Education. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education and experience in a healthcare related field. Technical Skills. Computer literate, demonstrated analytical and fiscal management skills, experience with assisted living resident management software systems and CRM software. Relationship Skills. Demonstrated ability to work successfully with senior population, residents, families, and local community. Communication Skills. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Personal Attributes.
