Parts Counter Sales

The Parts Counter Sales personnel will assist in making the Parts Department a profitable center by focusing on providing excellent customer service using established customer sales standards.Major Duties and Responsibilities:Determine replacement part required, according to inspection of old part, customer request, or customer description of the malfunctionAdvise customer on substitution or modification of part when identical replacement is not availableUtilize computer to determine part stock number and priceDemonstrate equipment to customer and explain functioning of equipmentPrepare sales slip or sales contractReceive and fill telephone orders for partsInspect returned part for defects and exchange defective part or refund moneyKeep inventory control on cores to be returnedFill salesmen's orders for new truck partsPrepare wreck estimates and fax to customerKeep display area updated, organized, and priced according to sales fliersKeep work area neat and organizedAssist in taking physical inventory of stockComplete training requirements for the parts departmentAttend scheduled parts meetingsEducation/Training or Experience:High School diploma or GED requiredDiploma from Technical College preferredIntermediate to advanced computer skills requiredGeneral knowledge of trucks, truck parts, and the trucking industry preferred
