Kennedy ABA - Job Title: ABA Billing SupervisorPosition Summary:The ABA Billing Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all aspects of ABA billing operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely reimbursement across multiple payers. The ABA Billing Supervisor will lead the billing team, manage workflows, and maintain payer compliance standards specific to Applied Behavior Analysis services. This role requires several years of ABA billing experience, strong knowledge of insurance requirements, and hands-on expertise in CentralReach and Waystar.Key Responsibilities: Supervise daily ABA billing operations, including claim submission, payment posting, and denial managementSet up and maintain accurate billing codes, CPT codes, modifiers, and payer-specific proceduresOversee the configuration and maintenance of billing settings within CentralReachConduct regular audits of previous billings to ensure compliance and identify revenue recovery opportunitiesReview and resolve claim denials, rejections, and underpaymentsEnsure billing accuracy for commercial insurance, Medicaid, and managed care plansTrain and support billing staff on ABA-specific billing processesMonitor aging reports and implement corrective action plansCollaborate with clinical and authorization teams to ensure proper documentation supports claimsManage clearinghouse processes and submissions through WaystarQualifications: Minimum of 3–5+ years of ABA billing experience requiredPrior supervisory or team lead experience preferredExtensive hands-on experience with CentralReach ABA billingStrong working knowledge of Waystar clearinghouse systemsProven experience setting up billing codes, modifiers, and payer proceduresDemonstrated experience auditing prior billing and correcting systemic errorsDeep understanding of CPT codes related to ABA services (e.g., 97151, 97153, 97154, 97155, 97156, 97157, 97158)Knowledge of Medicaid and commercial payer requirementsStrong analytical, organizational, and leadership skillsCore Competencies: Revenue cycle management expertiseStrong attention to detail and compliance awarenessAbility to identify billing inefficiencies and implement improvementsEffective communication with insurance providers and internal teamsProactive problem-solving and decision-making skillsLeadership Expectations: The ABA Billing Supervisor is expected to maintain high standards of billing accuracy and compliance while supporting team performance. The ABA Billing Supervisor must demonstrate strong oversight when auditing previous billings and ensuring corrective actions are taken. Additionally, the ABA Billing Supervisor will serve as the primary point of contact for clearinghouse management through Waystar and ensure claims are transmitted efficiently. Success in this role requires strong technical knowledge, leadership capability, and deep experience in ABA revenue cycle management.
