Atrium is seeking on behalf of our client a Controller based in New York, NY. A background check may be run only after a conditional offer is made, where permitted by law.Position: ControllerLocation: New York, NYEmployment Type: Full-timeCompensation: $100,000-$140,000 basePosition OverviewThe Controller will oversee all aspects of the firm’s financial operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency across accounting and reporting functions. This role partners closely with leadership and operations teams to provide actionable financial insights that support strategic decision-making. The Controller will also manage a small team and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to maintain strong fiscal health. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.ResponsibilitiesOversee firmwide accounting operations, including general ledger, payroll, bank reconciliations, journal entries, and coordination of tax and pension administration.Manage project financials, budgets, timesheets, and profitability, supporting proposals, additional services, and progress billing.Serve as primary billing and finance contact for clients and subconsultants, overseeing invoicing, payments, and contract compliance.Lead cash flow management, accounts receivable oversight, cash forecasting, line of credit monitoring, and financial reporting for firm leadership.Supervise the Assistant Controller and collaborate with partners and operations to translate financial data into clear business insights.Required Experience/SkillsProficiency with DelTek Vision or Vantagepoint and advanced Excel skills.Strong bookkeeping experience with attention to detail and accuracy.Demonstrated experience in cash flow management and financial forecasting.Ability to manage complex billing processes and ensure compliance with client contracts.Excellent communication and leadership skills to guide team members and collaborate with stakeholders.Education RequirementsBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration preferred.Equivalent work experience in financial management and accounting accepted.Continuing education or certifications in accounting or finance a plus.Advanced Excel and financial software proficiency.BenefitsIf eligible under the ACA, medical, dental and vision benefits and time off in accordance with local paid sick time laws will be offered.
