Part Time Education Coordinator

The Education Coordinator will provide coordination of all early learning self-guided field trip programs built around theKABOOM Toolkit Framework that focuses on nature exploration and play with natural materials to create and build. They will be responsible for field trip communication, supply organization, and daily supervision of self-guided field trips for students in early education.Essential Responsibilities:Work cooperatively and collaboratively with all departments to implement self-guided field trip programs for early education at BSP.Oversee and manage the supplies required to provide high-quality early learning self-guided field trip experiences.Ensure the smooth and efficient operation of all elements of self-guided field trip services.Develop and lead program evaluation system to ensure programming aligns with current grant guidelines.Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with educational institutions, school district personnel, and various community organizations.Essential Functions:Responsible for management of daily logistics and communication related to self-guided field trip visits.Communicate with teachers, group leaders, and individuals by phone and email to answer all questions and suggest appropriate programs.Work with Education Manager to maintain and track accurate financial and attendance reports regarding group arrivals, registrations, and confirmations of self-guided field trip outcomes.Ensure necessary internal communication occurs to provide essential information to all BSP departments in relation to self-guided early education field trips.Integrate sensory-friendly and inclusive strategies to field trips to address diverse sensory needs and preferences.Ensure supplies are ordered, properly organized, and on-hand for early learning self-guided field trips.Confirm group reservation logistics including schedule and greeting groups the day of arrival while making sure to communicate confirmed information with appropriate education team members and other departments, as needed.Responsible for research of science-focused early learning self-guided field trip trends.Follow and relay complex oral and written instructions, policies, and procedures.Develop and maintain supply inventory, keep storage areas organized and tidy.Support Signature Events and other duties as assigned.Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in early childhood learning, science education, environmental science, recreational programming, or related field.At least one year of experience working with early childhood learners in a formal or informal education setting.Demonstrated Knowledge & Skills:Proficient in Microsoft Office software. Ability to learn new systems and software that support the park’s education programming.Outstanding interpersonal communication skills. Ability to interact and communicate effectively and collaborate with co-workers, community partners, donors, and guests.Possess planning and organizational skills with attention to detail and ability to prioritize needs and follow through with tasks.Meet and deal courteously with the general public.Ability to work effectively as part of a team achieving common goals.Ability to prepare a variety of reports and presentations.Requirements:Pass a background check and mandatory drug test.Must possess a valid driver’s license and be insurable through the park’s insurance carrier.Ability to endure five or more hours in an outdoor setting during various seasonal weather.Must have good people skills and be comfortable interacting with guests of all ages.Occasional weekend, evening, and holiday work in alignment with programming may be required.Work Environment:The work environment is widely varied and spans from quiet indoor office work to loud outdoor work in extreme weather conditions, primarily heat, rain, and humidity. The candidate must be able to adapt to these conditions quickly as transitioning from indoor to outdoor spaces will occur on a regular basis.Physical Demands:The physical demands representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job include but are not limited to: regularly required to sit, stand, walk, see, hear, talk, drive and meet with others. Employee must possess conversational hearing, with or without aid, as well as adequate vision and ability to verbally communicate effectively. Additionally, employees must possess dexterity to operate standard office equipment, drive a golf cart, and have the ability to occasionally lift 40 pounds or more.
