Behavioral Health Intervention Specialist

JOB SUMMARY The Behavioral Health Intervention Specialist will work with clients and their family in the community to address behavioral health goals outlined in a client implementation plan. The BHIS Specialist teachs skill development to clients with a mental health diagnosis, who are between the ages of 3-21, and are covered by an Iowa MCO plan. We have an opening covering Des Moines and surrounding areas. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES · Develop respectful relationships with clients, families, and community referrals · Facilitate goal achievement through the use of implementation plans · Teach skills to remediate skills lost or never developed due to living with mental illness or behavioral struggles. · Maintain case records and reports in a timely manner within agency guidelines and deadlines · Monthly clinical supervision of clients with LPHA · Maintain confidentiality of clients and CTS in compliance with HIPPA laws and agency standards · Access community resources in the best interest of CTS clients · Attend all scheduled CTS meetings · Maintain positive, professional attitude while representing CTS Marketing for self and client referrals with outside agencies and entities · Other duties as assigned or requested EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Required: Bachelor’s degree in social science field + 1-year experience/20 hours training in child mental health BACKGROUND CHECKS All BHIS specialists will be required to pass all child and dependent adult abuse check, and criminal background checks prior to working with Choices Therapy Services clients. CERTIFICATES REQUIRED: All BHIS specialists are required to complete and provide a mandatory abuse training certificate to Choices Therapy Services prior to working with CTS clients. Proof of an active CPR/First Aid Certificate is also required. TRAINING All BHIS specialist will be required to read and take assessments of understanding in the following areas within 30 days of taking their first client at CTS: Diversity, Suicide, Developmental Milestones, HIPPA, Trauma, CPR/First Aid, Positive Parenting, ACES Job Type: Part-time Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour Benefits: Flexible schedule Professional development assistance Referral program Work Location: On the road
