Title: Bootcode Firmware Developer

THE ROLE:
The focus of this role is to plan, build, and execute the verification of new and existing features for graphics processor IP, resulting in no bugs in the final design.
THE PERSON:
You have a passion for modern, complex processor architecture, firmware development, digital design, and verification in general. You are a team player who has excellent communication skills and experience collaborating with other engineers located in different sites/timezones. You have strong analytical and problem-solving skills and are willing to learn and ready to take on problems.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Understand architectural flows of Init and Boot-media management and develop features in Bootcode
Collaborate with architects, hardware engineers, and firmware engineers to understand the new features to be developed for Reset or Boot-media management.
Estimate the time required to write the new feature any required changes in the environment.
Responsible for SoC Bootrom development and delivery to Business units/ SoC teams
Work with build flows of one ore more microprocessors tool chain such as arm, risc-v, tensilica etc..
Work with HW accelerators and vcs based hybrid simulation environment for development and debug of firmware
Provide support for debug in various platforms such as vcs/ emulators/ fpga or post-si
Participate in feature definitions and test-planning process with technical inputs
Debug test failures to determine the root cause; work with RTL and DV engineers to resolve design defects and correct any test issues.
Review functional and code coverage metrics provide inputs to DV for necessary scenarios
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
Solid understanding of C/ C++ and firmware development using sim/emu environment
Familiarity with various microprocessors architecture and ISA
Understanding of Initialization flows and Boot-media management
Hands on experience in embedded firmware development
Clear understanding of ASIC verification tools and debugging techniques
Scripting ability in ruby/ python or pears

Experience on clocking/ fabric topologies and debug is a plus!
ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:
Bachelor's or master's degree in computer engineering/Electrical Engineering
Job Type: Contract
Pay: $80.00 - $90.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
