Material Handler
Job DescriptionReports To: Operations Manager Business Unit: 6999 StaffingHours of Work: Full-Time Work Environment: FoundryWeekend & Emergency Coverage as neededObjective Complete material movements from unloading through the proper storage of pallets. Operate all material handling equipment in a safe manner.Essential Duties:Load, unload and move material within the foundry. Follow oral instruction to ascertain materials to be moved. Convey material to or from storage area to work area using hand truck, dolly, or another device. Operate industrial truck or electric hoist to assist in loading or moving materials. Operate warehouse equipment (e.g., manual pallet jacks, motorized pallet jacks and forklifts). Perform (and have a history of performing) all job duties in a safe and accurate manner. Understand and follow written and verbal instructions and procedures. Work independently to complete daily tasks. Use good written and verbal communication skills to effectively work with others and maintain records necessary to in compliance with government, company, and department regulations. Sense of urgency to perform tasks to timelines. Comfortable in a fast-paced work environment. Strong attention to detail. Skills & ExperienceMust have High School diploma or GED. Experience in distribution/warehousing environment is preferred. Experience with warehouse equipment (e.g., manual pallet jacks, motorized pallet jacks, fork lifts) is preferred. Physical Requirements:Constant (100%) standing and walking during workday. Frequent (70%) pushing, pulling, grasping, stretching, bending, twisting, reaching over head (50 lbs). Occasional (30%) stooping, climbing, and squeezing.
