Join us!Your Role as a System Operator/Machine OperatorKey responsibilities:Job PurposeEnsure the effective operation of the facility by monitoring and managing the computer-based Material Flow Control System (MFCS) and physically correcting issues with the Material Handling Equipment (MHE). To assist the Maintenance Supervisor in training, system flow improvements, help cover vacation. Maintain a professional culture on site and a commitment to Health & Safety, in line with company values.Key Result Areas Responsibilities and AccountabilitiesIntended resultsPallet flow and automated processes are controlled and executed according to planAny issues with the MFCS are resolved in a safe and timely mannerTo objectively give reviews on operator's performance.This is a working lead position.ResponsibilitiesResponsible for the proper, complete and safe operation of the automated material flow control system and material handling equipment in the facilityCommunicating MFCS problems to Team MembersEnsuring the MHE is operated according to SOPs and supplier guidelinesTraining new, current, and other site operators in GLA, MLS, and basic trouble shooting skills.Core tasksMonitor and manage the automated computer-based control system for smooth pallet flow throughout the facility.Safety analysis of the system.Maintain the filling rate to an acceptable level, and train others on how to achieve this.Assist in facilitating vacation coverage, cleaning, and certifications for operators.Assist on error list and provide solutions to get them fixed.Consistently strive to making improvements to the production flow and the system.Troubleshoot problems that interrupt automated flow by physically investigating and taking corrective actionManually control the operation of conveyors and other material handling equipment when necessaryNotify Maintenance Technicians of any equipment needing maintenance or repair and assist team if requiredEnsure actions are executed in compliance with OSHA, FSDA requirements, and all other company policies to maintain a safe working environmentAct in line with agreed procedures for ensuring quality of product is maintained at all times in line with customer requirementsCoordinate with Planners and Maintenance Technicians to ensure any problems are accounted for and resolved with minimal impact to normal operationsComplete Shift Handover reportsMake sure shifts are staffed up for the flows.Help facilitate information between shiftsAdditional tasksAssist in other warehouse activities as requiredAssist in Vacation CoverageMaintain a clean and tidy work environmentContinually look for opportunities for improvementRequirements: Education, Experience and Physical demandsExperience Requirements2+ years of work experience in related fields preferredExperience with operating Material Flow Control Systems (e.g. automated conveyors)or Industrial Control Systems preferredStrong computer skillsPhysical DemandsMust be in good physical conditionMust be able to lift 50lbsMust be able to work effectively in cold freezer environmentMust be able to climb 120ft ladder using safety harnessMust be weigh between 136-310 poundsWill be required to wear a SCBA while working, requiring employee to be clean shavenWho we are looking for: We are seeking motivated and forward-thinking individuals who thrive in collaborative and fast-moving environments.
