Sr. Platform Engineer | Fully Remote (EST hours)Optomi, in partnership with a leading financial technology platform, is seeking an experienced Senior Platform Engineer to join their team in a remote environment!This role focuses on building and evolving internal platforms, tooling, and engineering standards that enable product teams to deliver software safely, consistently, and at scale. Sitting at the intersection of software engineering, cloud infrastructure, and developer experience, this position is key to improving reliability, scalability, and overall engineering productivity across the organization.What the right candidate will enjoy!Working remotely or in a hybrid setting with a preference for East Coast locations.Collaborating with product teams to define and implement shared patterns and automation.Designing and maintaining reusable CI/CD frameworks and workflows.Experience of the right candidate:5+ years of experience in platform, infrastructure, cloud, or systems engineering rolesStrong experience designing and operating cloud-based systems in AWSHands-on experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform and CloudFormationExperience supporting containerized workloads (Docker, Kubernetes, ECS)Proficiency in at least one programming language (Python, Go, or JavaScript)Experience implementing service reliability practices (SLIs, SLOs, error budgets)Familiarity with observability tools such as Datadog, New Relic, or PrometheusResponsibilities of the right candidate:Design and evolve shared platform patterns, standards, and infrastructure solutionsBuild internal tools and automation to support scalable engineering practicesCollaborate with product teams to remove friction and improve developer workflowsImplement and promote best practices in security, observability, and reliabilitySupport containerized platforms and cloud-native infrastructure environmentsEnable teams to independently deploy and manage services within a reliable platform ecosystem
