Position: Financial Reporting and System SpecialistDepartment: FinanceReporting to: Director of Financial ReportingLocation: Topeka, KS - OnsiteOverviewWe’re looking for a Financial Reporting and System Specialist to play a key role in how our organization leverages financial data to drive decision-making. This position sits at the intersection of financial reporting and system administration, with a focus on optimizing NetSuite and delivering clear, reliable insights to leadership.In this role, you’ll take ownership of our NetSuite system and reporting, including system configuration, reporting development, and data governance. This position is centered on building and improving systems and reporting—not day-to-day transaction processing—and requires a strong understanding of U.S. GAAP within a complex, multi-entity environment.If you enjoy building efficient systems, improving processes, and turning data into meaningful insights, this role offers the opportunity to make a measurable impact.What You’ll DoNetSuite System AdministrationServe as the primary administrator of NetSuite financial systems, including system configuration, maintenance, and ongoing optimizationDesign, develop, and maintain saved searches, reports, dashboards, and analytics within NetSuiteManage system configuration elements such as chart of accounts, segments, and reporting hierarchies in partnership with accounting leadershipSupport troubleshooting, testing, and implementation of system updates, enhancements, and issue resolutionFinancial ReportingOwn financial reporting within NetSuite and NetSuite AnalyticsDevelop clear, accurate, and consistent financial reports, dashboards, and analytics to support leadership decision-makingGather reporting requirements from finance leaders and translate them into scalable, standardized outputsSupport ad hoc reporting, analysis, and special projects for leadershipData Governance and Reporting IntegrityEnsure accuracy, consistency, and reliability of financial data across reporting outputsMaintain reporting logic, definitions, and documentation to support data governance standardsIdentify and resolve data integrity issues, reporting gaps, and system limitationsSupport validation and testing of reports, system changes, and new functionalityExperience You’ll Bring5+ years of experience in financial reporting, accounting systems, or financial systems analysisStrong understanding of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting principlesHands-on experience working in NetSuite (NetSuite Analytics is a plus)Experience working across multiple entities or complex organizational structuresStrong problem-solving skills and attention to detailAbility to collaborate across teams and translate business needs into system and reporting solutionsBonus PointsExperience with ERP-related tools including: NetSuite ERP, NetSuite Analytic Warehouse (NSAW), NetSuite Planning and Budgeting (NSPB)Background in system administration or reporting ownershipProficiency in Excel, Power BI, or other data visualization toolsCPA or advanced accounting credentials (not required)What You’ll GetAmazing benefits including medical, dental, vision and 401k (with matching options)Generous PTO package from your start dateAccess to an on-site café, gym and primary careContinuous personal and professional development opportunitiesRecognition for hard work & exemplary performanceEmployee sponsored events…and more!Who We AreAdvisors Excel is a fast paced, innovative company that seeks to service independent financial advisors in a multitude of areas within their business.
