Software Developer III
Overview:
In this role, you will design, build, and maintain backend services, focusing on Java-based solutions. You'll work with cross-functional teams through the full software lifecycle, balancing speed, quality, performance, and security to deliver reliable systems. You'll solve ambiguous problems by designing scalable components and contributing to architecture and code reviews. The position offers impact through building robust APIs and data-driven features in a collaborative environment.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, test, debug and document applications and system components
- Participate in API design and RESTful services
- Translate requirements into technical solutions
- Contribute to architecture, design and code reviews
- Maintain operational and system-level documentation
- Work with database schemas, queries and data models
- Develop against Kafka and event-driven systems
- Write well-tested, maintainable code and own code quality
- Troubleshoot production issues using logs, metrics and traces
- Operate within CI/CD and source-control workflows
- Provide constructive feedback during peer reviews
- Collaborate with developers and stakeholders throughout the lifecycle
Key requirements:
- Deep proficiency in JavaStrong software development fundamentals
- Willingness to learn additional languages/technologiesRESTful web services and API development
- System/service design experience
- Experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases (MySQL, MongoDB, PostgreSQL) and data modeling
- Kafka or comparable messaging experience
