Job Title: Licensed Practical Nurse Employment Type: Full-time, 40 hours/wk Scheduled Hours: Monday-Friday 11:30PM -7:30AM Program/Location: Child Residential, Norwich CT PC#: 3044 About the Program: Child Residential The Child Residential program provides short-term, intensive behavioral health support in a residential setting to youth experiencing acute emotional or psychiatric crises. The program focuses on rapid de-escalation, stabilization, and connection to ongoing care through a collaborative, trauma-informed approach. Services include comprehensive assessment, individualized treatment planning, therapeutic interventions, and coordination with families, schools, and healthcare providers to ensure a safe and supported transition to the appropriate level of care. About the Position: Licensed Practical Nurse Duties & Responsibilities Provides direct care supervision of clients including building healthy relationships, problem solving, and psychoeducation. Shows knowledge of and role in individual treatment plans, including their assessment in collaboration with the program RN, needs, behavioral goals, and intervention strategies. Supports residents with visits and family connection with parents, relatives and other significant people in the lives of clients. Leads and supports staff in crisis intervention, develops client crisis plans in collaboration with clinical and RN staff, and participates in post crisis response meetings with program staff and management. Teaches and supports development of essential skills, including relationship building, symptom management, emotion regulation, daily living, budgeting, psychoeducation, relapse prevention and community resource linking, and actively participates in activities to enhance these competencies. Provides medication administration and monitoring including observing patient response to medication, checking vital signs, and reporting changes or concerns to program RN or APRN. Provides education, support and coaching around skills of coordinating self-care and medical/behavioral health care needs. Provides skills teaching, such as assisting clients in planning and preparing nutritional meals including diet and nutrition, Diabetes education, illness prevention, engage and communicate with family and friends and safety within the community. Transports clients when necessary. Maintains documentation in compliance with agency standards. Household tasks and duties as assigned, or as needed, to promote a clean, safe, and comfortable environment. Additional duties and assignments as assigned Qualifications: Education: Graduate of school of Nursing with LPN licensure. Experience: Experience with patients with complex medical and behavioral health issues. Licensure/Certification/Registration: Valid driver's license. Licensed Practical Nurse in State of CT.
