Internal Medicine Physician (MD/DO)Position SummaryThe Internal Medicine Physician provides comprehensive medical care for adult patients, focusing on the prevention, diagnosis, and management of acute and chronic medical conditions. This role emphasizes evidence-based practice, continuity of care, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care across clinical settings.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesProvide primary and consultative medical care to adult patientsEvaluate, diagnose, and manage acute illnesses and chronic conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, cardiovascular disease, pulmonary disease, and infectious conditionsPerform comprehensive histories, physical examinations, and ongoing patient assessmentsDevelop and implement individualized treatment and preventive care plansProvide outpatient clinic care and/or inpatient consultation services as applicableCoordinate care with specialists and ancillary servicesParticipate in preventive care, health maintenance, and chronic disease managementEducate patients regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, and lifestyle modificationEnsure safe transitions of care and appropriate follow-upMaintain accurate and timely clinical documentationParticipate in quality improvement, patient safety, and outcomes initiativesSupervise and educate residents, medical students, or advanced practice providers as applicableComply with all regulatory, accreditation, and professional standardsQualificationsDoctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited medical schoolCompletion of an accredited Internal Medicine residency programBoard-eligible or board-certified in Internal MedicineAbility to obtain and maintain unrestricted state medical licensureDEA registration or eligibilitySkills and CompetenciesBroad clinical knowledge in adult medicineStrong diagnostic reasoning and clinical decision-making skillsExcellent communication and patient counseling abilitiesAbility to manage complex and chronic medical conditionsCommitment to evidence-based, patient-centered careWork EnvironmentOutpatient internal medicine clinics, hospital inpatient units, or combined practice settingsSchedule may include clinic hours, inpatient coverage, and call responsibilities depending on practice modelPhysical RequirementsAbility to sit, stand, and move throughout clinical environmentsManual dexterity for examinations and proceduresVisual and auditory acuity sufficient for patient assessment and communication
