Production Manager

DescriptionDSA Doors is seeking an experienced Production Manager to lead daily manufacturing operations within our door production facility. This role is responsible for delivering safe, efficient, and high-quality production while meeting customer demand and operational performance targets.The Production Manager plays a critical leadership role, overseeing multiple production areas and developing teams while partnering cross-functionally with Quality, Maintenance, Engineering, Supply Chain, Warehouse, and HR to drive continuous improvement and operational excellence.Key ResponsibilitiesOperational Leadership & Production PlanningOversee all production activities including door assembly, custom operations, machining, stain/finish, material handling, and packagingDevelop and execute daily, weekly, and monthly production plans aligned with customer demand and KPIsMonitor and manage production metrics such as throughput, scrap, downtime, efficiency, and labor utilizationEnsure production lines are appropriately staffed and operating efficientlyProcess Improvement & QualityImplement lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives to improve flow and reduce wastePartner with the Quality team to ensure adherence to product specifications and quality standardsInvestigate production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective and preventive actionsDrive standardization of work methods and compliance with SOPsTeam Leadership & DevelopmentDirectly supervise Production Supervisors, Leads, and frontline teamsConduct performance reviews, coaching, and disciplinary actions as neededSupport employee development through training, cross-training, and mentorshipFoster a positive, accountable, and safety-focused production cultureSafety & ComplianceEnforce company safety policies, OSHA requirements, and safe work practicesEnsure compliance with PPE use, machine guarding, lockout/tagout, and material handling standardsParticipate in safety audits, incident investigations, and corrective action implementationResource & Equipment ManagementPartner with Maintenance to minimize downtime and maintain equipment reliabilityCoordinate with Supply Chain to manage material availability and prevent shortagesRecommend equipment upgrades, technology enhancements, and process improvements to support production goalsRequirementsRequiredBachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Industrial Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent practical experience)5–7 years of progressive experience in a manufacturing environmentAt least 2 years of supervisory or management experience leading production teamsStrong working knowledge of lean manufacturing, 6S, and continuous improvement principlesExperience with production planning, scheduling, workflow analysis, and ERP/MRP systemsSolid understanding of OSHA regulations, safety programs, and quality systemsPreferredExperience in building materials, millwork, cabinetry, or door manufacturingProven ability to lead change and implement process improvementsSkills & AttributesStrong leadership and team development capabilitiesData-driven decision-making and analytical problem-solving skillsExcellent communication and collaboration skills across departmentsHigh attention to detail and commitment to product qualityAbility to perform effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume manufacturing environmentDemonstrated commitment to safety and risk reductionWhy Join DSA DoorsDSA Doors Is a Leading U.S. Manufacturer Of Premium Wood Doors, Focused On Craftsmanship, Operational Discipline, And Continuous Improvement.
