Senior/Principal Full Stack Engineer Hampton North is partnering with a YC23 Series A startup to build out their engineering team. They're building AI agents that autonomously run fraud and risk investigations for Fortune 500's. The work here directly protects real victims of fraud, it's not just an abstract security problem. Fresh off a $26M raise, they're scaling fast and the engineering team is small, meaning massive ownership and direct founder access from day one.Compensation: $220,000 - $350,000 base + Meaningful EquityLocation: San Francisco, North Beach area (Onsite)What you'll be doing:Own product features and systems end-to-end, from architecture and implementation through to launch and iterationLead technical decisions across the full stack, balancing speed, quality, maintainability, and scaleBuild AI-powered interfaces and decision systems operating in real time with high precisionWork directly with the founders on frontier problems in fraud, abuse, and riskScale the product into new industries and workflows through rapid pilots, live demos, and fast feedback loopsImprove engineering velocity by shaping internal tools, patterns, and standardsHelp define the technical foundation of the company as it growsWhat you'll need:2+ years of professional software engineering experienceExperience working in an agentic environmentExperience working in an early stage startupStrong opinions about product quality, system design, and code quality, you care about craftsmanshipComfort driving projects end-to-end, from backend architecture to polished UI to productionStrong fundamentals across the stack: React/Next.js, TypeScript, Node, MySQL, and ClickHouseExperience building reliable systems at scale and debugging issues in productionAbility to make pragmatic technical tradeoffs in fast-moving, ambiguous environmentsA collaborative approach, working closely with product, design, and leadership to turn fuzzy problems into shipped systems
