Senior Process Engineer (Preconstruction)

What We’re BuildingCandid is building the AI layer for EPCs.We use AI to reduce the manual effort behind preconstruction engineering by automating document understanding, consistency checks, and repetitive workflow steps across major disciplines. Our goal is to make preconstruction 10x faster without sacrificing engineering quality.We recently raised $6.5M from top AI and industrial investors (including Schneider Electric and Meta’s Chief AI Scientist). Our team includes engineers from MIT, Carnegie Mellon, major LNG and power projects, and leading EPCs.What You Will DoYou will help us translate real process engineering workflows into product requirements and validation checks:Define how preconstruction process work is done in practice and what “good” looks likeReview and validate process deliverables across early phase engineering packagesBuild repeatable checks to catch inconsistencies across key documents and handoffsMap where rework happens, why it happens, and what inputs typically drive itClarify interface points with Mechanical, Piping, Electrical, and InstrumentationIdentify which steps are repetitive vs which require real engineering judgementYou'll help define the checks, workflows, and product requirements that let software take on the repetitive parts, with engineers in control.What we are looking for7+ years at an EPC, PMC, or owner operatorStrong understanding of FEED and detailed design workflowsDeep experience owning PFD and P&ID developmentExperience running simulations in Aspen HYSYS, Aspen Plus, or similar toolsStrong fundamentals in relief, hydraulics, and sizing workflowsKnowledge of API, ASME, NFPA, ISA, or similar standardsAbility to spot inconsistencies across P&IDs, datasheets, and vendor packagesClear understanding of cross discipline dependenciesNice to HaveExperience as discipline lead or technical authorityFamiliarity with flare system modeling and relief calculation packagesInterest in AI or automationPerksMeaningful base + equityUnlimited PTO: We believe great work requires recharging.
