Job DescriptionNuclear Medicine Technologist Elmira, NYUp to $15,000 Sign-On Bonus | Full-Time | Excellent BenefitsMain FunctionWe are seeking a Nuclear Medicine Technologist to perform a wide range of diagnostic and therapeutic Nuclear Medicine procedures across hospital and physician office settings. This position reports directly to the Supervisor of Nuclear Medicine and offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to high-quality patient care while working with advanced imaging technology.Key ResponsibilitiesDiagnostic Nuclear Medicine/Nuclear CardiologyPerform a full range of diagnostic procedures with precision and accuracyConduct quality control testing on imaging equipmentReview physician orders for appropriatenessPrepare patients and administer radiopharmaceuticalsInsert IV catheters as requiredAcquire and process images using gamma cameras, PACS, and nuclear medicine management systemsTroubleshoot technical and clinical issuesRadiopharmaceutical PreparationOrder, prepare, and calculate doses of radiopharmaceuticalsManage Tc99m kits and bulk suppliesEnsure quality control and compliance with sterile techniqueRadioactive Material ManagementOversee ordering, receiving, distributing, and storage of radioactive materials and wasteEnsure compliance with departmental, hospital, and New York State regulationsTherapeutic Nuclear MedicineCoordinate with referring offices and radiologists for therapy planningEnsure all pre-testing and documentation is completeAdminister therapeutic doses safely while following all radiation safety precautionsMobile Nuclear CardiologyTravel to physician offices across NY and PA using a mobile gamma camera systemSafely transport, set up, and operate equipment in varied environmentsWork independently alongside physicians, nurses, and patientsPatient CareProvide compassionate, age-appropriate care for neonates through geriatricsMaintain patient safety and comfort throughout all proceduresCompliance & EducationParticipate in accreditation activities and departmental policy complianceMaintain continuing education credits and required certificationsAttend annual training and educational programsCustomer ServiceDemonstrate excellent patient interaction skills by providing care in a friendly, professional, and attentive mannerSupport a positive patient experience throughout the diagnostic processRequirementsCurrent certification or eligibility for certification in Nuclear Medicine by NMTCB or ARRTFormal 2- or 4-year degree in Nuclear Medicine Technology (preferred)Eligibility for New York State Nuclear Medicine Technologist licensureValid drivers license and insurabilityBLS certification (required within 90 days of hire)Experience: One year preferred, but motivated new graduates will be considered.Benefits You'll Love:Competitive compensation + signon bonus potentialMedical, dental, and vision coverageGenerous paid time off and holidaysTuition assistance and continuing education supportRetirement plan with employer contributionEmployee wellness and assistance programsOpportunities for advancement and crosstrainingQualificationsCurrent certification or eligibility for certification in Nuclear Medicine by NMTCB or ARRTEligibility for New York State Nuclear Medicine Technologist licensureAbout Elmira, NYWhy is This a Great Opportunity:Set in the heart of theFinger Lakes region,Elmiraoffers a unique blend of outdoor beauty, local charm, and affordable living.
