Job Description The person in this role patterns their leadership after the example of Jesus Christ, strengthens those they lead, effectively administers Seminary and Institute (S&I) programs in an assigned geographic area, and builds unity with others. This is a people manager position. The person in this role should have a strong background and experience in learning, teaching, training, communication, managing resources, and helping others to grow in their performance and development. The person in this role helps youth and young adults deepen their conversion to Jesus Christ and His restored gospel, qualify for the blessings of the temple, and prepare themselves, their families, and others for eternal life with their Father in Heaven. Responsibilities Work in partnership with the area/region director, stake presidencies, high council, stake supervisors, ward leaders, and called teachers to: Set goals, make plans, and implement them to increase the number of youth and young adults participating in seminary and institute. Improve the learning experience and assess student experience for all youth and young adults (including students with disabilities) enrolled in your programs. Build the capability of stake-called teachers to accomplish what is outlined in Teaching in the Savior's Way. This may include monthly discussions, micro-training, in-service, digital and in-person observation, feedback, resources, and support. Prepare the annual program operating budget, oversee financial performance, and safeguard church assets. Adapt S&I curriculum and provide a pacing guide for local needs. Teach S&I classes in the Savior's way as the assignment requires. Regularly review and update a professional development plan, work towards accomplishing those goals, and render an account to the area/region director. Establish and maintain a Christlike culture of unity, improvement, and accountability. Supervise the work of other employees, which may include a mixed workforce of full-time and part-time employees as well as volunteers. Partner with HR (Human Resources) to provide suggestions and recommendations as to the hiring, advancement, promotion, or any other change of status of employees under coordinator supervision. Participate in regular training opportunities at the general/area/region level. Manage program operations, information, reports, and resources. This position may require travel. Supervises the work of other employees (may include mixed workforce) Provides suggestions and recommendations as to the hiring, firing, advancement, promotion or any other change of status of employees under their supervision Oversees and supports the Succeed in School program in approved countries. This involves establishing classes as requested by local priesthood leaders, providing curriculum and training for called teachers, and tracking student enrolment figures while keeping leaders informed about progress. Qualifications Bachelor's degree or equivalent. Three years of S&I related experience or equivalent. Requires an entry-level of understanding and skills related to the principles and practices of teaching, learning, and training. Be competent in the application of the Leadership Pattern and People Management Principles in S&I settings. Requires entry-level interpersonal communication skillsincluding verbal communication, active listening, body language, openness, negotiation, decision making, and conflict resolution and mediation. Be competent in the ability to manage performance and encourage growth and improvement of others. Be competent in the ability to observe and provide meaningful, clear, standards-based feedback related to teaching performance and development. Requires entry level skills in examining data to grasp issues, draw conclusions, and solve problems. Competent in leading and working with councils to direct the work. Capable of overseeing financial processes, including following financial policies, establishing budgets, and appropriately approving and monitoring financial transactions. Possess a general understanding of how to support students with disabilities, which may include physical, learning, behavioral, emotional, and/or mental health challenges. Ability to plan and manage time, information, reports, resources, meetings, agendas, and action items. Align with the direction and policies of the Church Board of Education and S&I leadership. Must be able to use standard office equipment. Must have competency in the Microsoft Suite of tools.
