Job DescriptionHamilton Connections is seeking candidates with CNC lathe experience for a machinist position at a manufacturing company in Newtown, CT. This is a temp-to-hire position.The hours are 7:30 a.m.-4 p.m., Monday-Friday. The salary is $24-$30 an hour, depending on experience.Job Responsibilities:Deliver production jobs on time and within budgetSetup, maintenance and operation of lathes, CNC & NC machinesSupport the manufacturing engineering team to develop process sheets for new productsOperate up to 3 machines at one timeSet up machines for the next shift operators based on ordersReview samples, drawings or instructions to understand specifications of outputPlan the sequence of necessary actions for the completion of a jobTake measurements and mark material for cutting or shapingSelect appropriate machines and position or load material for a jobDetermine and program size of batches, speed of machine etc.First piece inspections using micrometers, calipers and 3D scanners to ensure parts are within toleranceMonitor machine while working to adjust the feed, maintain temperature and identify issuesCheck output to ensure consistency with specifications and discard defectsSecondary duties such as deburring, welding, fabrication, assembly and other manufacturing tasksMaintain a safe working atmosphere and safe use of machinesOther duties as assigned Job Requirements: 5 or more years of proven CNC lathe experienceExperience operating multiple CNC machines at once; experience with DMG Mori, Noumara Swiss machines strongly preferredSet up & run complete jobs from drawings & sketchesExperience with machining titanium and aluminumExperience working to +/- 0.005 machining toleranceExperience changing tools, offsets and selecting programs on machines according to process method sheetsFamiliar with G code and programming of CNC machinesExperience doing first piece inspections using micrometers, calipers and 3D scanners to ensure parts are within toleranceDeburring, welding, fabrication, assembly and other manufacturing experience a plusAbility to handle physical aspects of job, including heavy liftingExcellent written and oral communications skillsAbility to collaborate on multiple projects with small technical team and other departmentsStrong customer centric focusA driven work ethic to problem solveAble to pass pre-employment screeningsAdditional InformationPlease select "Apply Online" to submit your application for this position.Click here to sign up for Job Alerts.You may also call your local Hamilton Connections office to speak with a recruiter and arrange an appointment.
