Driver/Reader - Part time

The Iris Network is a non-profit dedicated to helping the visually impaired gain and maintain independence as well as community integration. We are looking for a part-time Driver to help our visually impaired staff travel to work-site locations in Lewiston and covers Androscoggin, Oxford counties mostly, but can travel to other counties as well. This position pays $17.74 per hour plus mileage reimbursement. The applicant will need to use their own vehicle and have proof of insurance. Employee will schedule with the Driver as needed, preferably with two weeks notice. Every effort for a reasonable notice will be given to Driver. Overview: Provides transportation to itinerant staff who are visually impaired. The Driver/Reader may provide occasional transportation to blind/visually impaired clients to and from The Iris Network, using their own safe and reliable vehicle or an agency vehicle. May also provide assistance with visual tasks to passengers requiring visual assistance. Job Duties: Provide safe, reliable and timely transportation to staff members and/or clients, who are visually impaired Assist with reading, paperwork or other tasks which may require sight assistance as necessary Adhere to The Iris Network safety standards and procedures Other duties as assigned Requirements Clean driving record Access to a safe, reliable vehicle with proof of insurance Must be familiar with using a smart phone, tablet or laptop Sitting for prolonged periods of time The Iris Network is an equal opportunity employer.
