Job DescriptionPay: $41.58/hourSchedule: 1st Shift (6:00 AM ? 2:30 PM)Aramark Facilities Management is hiring a Journeyman Plumber to support operations at the General Motors Global Technical Center?a large, non-manufacturing campus listed on the National Register of Historic Places.This role is ideal for a skilled trades professional with strong commercial/industrial plumbing and steam system experience who thrives in a dynamic facilities environment.Uaw Journeyperson Requirements: Department of Labor Certificate of Completion of a Bonafide 4 year/8000 hour apprenticeship program. If not, must have 8 years of verifiable experience.If the 8 years is from a UAW facility, you must have a letter from the facility on company letterhead stating the dates of service and classification/s of the work performed during the years you are submitting as your experience. This letter must then be signed by a company representative with their name and title printed and it must also be signed by the local union bargaining chair or steward at the facility with their name and title printed.If the 8 years experience is not at the UAW facility, the additional years of verifiable experience must be on company letterhead, signed by the company representative and then taken to be notarized.Job ResponsibilitiesInstall, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair plumbing and piping systems in a large-scale industrial facilityWork with water, drainage, steam, heating, cooling, and industrial process piping systemsLay out, fabricate, assemble, and install pipes, valves, fittings, and fixturesRead and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specificationsTest piping systems for leaks and proper operationInstall and repair plumbing fixtures including sinks, toilets, water heaters, and related equipmentPerform routine plumbing and pipefitting work independentlyUse a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) to document workSupport fabrication shop and service departments as neededWork safely at heights and in confined spaces when requiredMentor apprentices and support team membersFollow all Aramark and GM Technical Center safety and housekeeping standardsAt Aramark, developing new skills and doing what it takes to get the job done make a positive impact for our employees and for our customers. In order to meet our commitments, job duties may change or new ones may be assigned without formal notice.QualificationsActive State of Michigan Journeyman Plumber license or Journeyman card7+ years of commercial or industrial plumbing experienceStrong knowledge of plumbing codes and safe work practicesAbility to read and interpret drawings and specificationsAbility to work independently or as part of a skilled trades teamHigh school diploma or equivalentAbility to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical trade workThis role may have physical demands including, but not limited to, lifting, bending, pushing, pulling and/or extended walking and standing.
