Lead Full Stack Engineer (P&C Insurance)Location: Hybrid – Manhattan, New York / Atlanta, GACompensation: $140,000-$180,000 base + bonus + 401(k) match + comprehensive benefitsOverviewA leading global property & casualty insurance organization is seeking a hands-on Lead Full Stack Engineer to drive the development and delivery of modern, scalable insurance applications. This role sits at the intersection of engineering excellence and business impact, playing a key part in building next-generation digital products that support underwriting, claims, billing, and broader insurance operations.This individual will lead from the front—owning architecture, guiding engineering teams, and delivering high-quality, end-to-end solutions in a fast-paced, transformation-focused environment.Key ResponsibilitiesLead end-to-end development of full stack applications, from requirements and architecture through deployment and ongoing supportDesign and implement scalable, secure, and reusable solutions aligned with enterprise architecture standardsAct as a hands-on technical leader, contributing to coding, design reviews, and complex problem solvingGuide and mentor engineering teams, fostering best practices in software development, code quality, and performancePartner with product, business, and technology stakeholders to translate requirements into impactful technical solutionsDrive delivery planning, including estimation, sprint execution, and release managementChampion modern engineering practices including CI/CD, test automation, and DevOps methodologiesIdentify risks and proactively resolve technical and delivery challengesApply domain knowledge to ensure solutions align with P&C insurance workflows and regulatory requirementsQualificationsBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field8–10+ years of software engineering experience, with strong full stack development expertiseProven experience leading delivery of complex, enterprise-scale applicationsStrong hands-on experience with modern tech stacks, including:Back-end: .NET, Node.js, or similarFront-end: React, Angular, or VueCloud platforms: AWS, Azure, or GCPAPIs and microservices architectureRelational and NoSQL databasesExperience designing scalable application and integration architecturesStrong understanding of Agile development, CI/CD pipelines, and modern DevOps practicesExcellent communication skills with the ability to engage both technical and business stakeholdersDemonstrated ability to mentor engineers and build high-performing teamsPreferredExperience within P&C insurance, including policy, claims, billing, or underwriting systemsExposure to insurance platforms such as Guidewire, Duck Creek, or MajescoExperience supporting large-scale digital transformation initiativesCloud or architecture certifications (AWS, Azure, GCP)If you are interested in learning more or would like to be considered, please reach out to the James Search Group team directly or apply via LinkedIn with your resume.Our client is an equal opportunities employer and welcomes applications from all qualified individuals.
