Cardiology - Interventional Physician

This is a locum tenens Interventional Cardiologist position providing inpatient care and call coverage. The role supports a potential gap due to a departing cardiology group and involves both scheduled daytime shifts and extensive on-call responsibilities. The physician will perform a range of interventional cardiology procedures and manage adult and geriatric patients in a hospital setting.Dates / Schedule Coverage Period: May 1 June 30, 2026Weekday Onsite Hours: Monday Friday, 7:00 AM 5:00 PMWeekday On-Call: Monday Friday, 5:00 PM 7:00 AMWeekend On-Call: Saturday 7:00 AM Sunday 7:00 AMSunday 7:00 AM Monday 7:00 AMSpecific May Call Dates: 2, 4, 6, 9, 11, 13, 15, 17, 20, 22, 25, 27, 29, 31Call Structure: STEMI call aligned with unassigned and noninvasive callCall Ratio: Approx. 9 VCS to 7 RHV (TBD)Job Details / Responsibilities Provide inpatient and on-call interventional cardiology coveragePerform procedures including: Balloon angioplasty, coronary angioplasty, PCIHeart catheterization and coronary angiogramsCarotid artery stenting, atherectomy, embolic protectionMedical management of vascular diseaseManageWork alongside other interventional cardiologists (team coverage present)No supervisory responsibilitiesUse EPIC EMR system for documentationFacility details: 250 beds total, 30 ICU bedsAdult and geriatric patient populationRequired Skills & Qualifications Board Certified in Cardiology (Required)BLS and ACLS certifications (Required)Active Virginia medical license (Required)Clean malpractice history (Required)NPDB Self-Query report (dated within 30 days, required at submission)Experience performing a wide range of interventional cardiology procedures
