Customer Service Representative-Medical Billing

Job Summary:A leading healthcare organization is seeking a Medical Billing Specialist to support its Revenue Cycle Management team. This role focuses on patient account management, billing review, collections support, and resolving account discrepancies. The ideal candidate will have strong medical billing knowledge, experience interpreting Explanation of Benefits documents, and prior experience in a healthcare billing or collections environment.Key Responsibilities:• Review patient billing statements, account balances, and Explanation of Benefits documents for accuracy• Verify billing information and enter updated account details into internal systems• Follow up on outstanding patient balances and unpaid accounts• Handle inbound and outbound billing-related calls in a professional manner• Assist patients with billing statement inquiries and payment-related concerns• Support patient credit balance reviews and account reconciliation activities• Maintain productivity and quality standards while managing account resolution tasks• Document account activity and updates accurately within the system• Collaborate with internal teams to resolve billing discrepancies and collection issuesRequired Qualifications:• High school diploma or equivalent required• Minimum 2 years of medical billing or healthcare collections experience• Strong understanding of medical billing processes and insurance terminology• Experience interpreting Explanation of Benefits documents• Previous experience working in a billing or customer service call queue environment• Strong communication and customer service skills• Excellent problem-solving and account resolution abilities• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and billing systemsPreferred Qualifications:• Associate degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, or related field• Experience supporting Revenue Cycle Management operations• Prior experience with patient collections and account reconciliation• Knowledge of healthcare insurance verification processesBenefits:The Company offers the following benefits for this position, subject to applicable eligibility requirements: medical insurance, dental insurance, vision insurance, 401(k) retirement plan, life insurance, long-term disability insurance, short-term disability insurance, paid parking/public transportation, paid time off, paid sick and safe time, hours of paid vacation time, weeks of paid parental leave, and paid holidays annually – as applicable.Pay Range: $20/hr to $25/hr
