Sr. Applications Engineer
Job DescriptionPosition Overview: The Senior Applications Engineer assists customers in setting up processes on Axcelis ion implantation. This role requires many of the same skills and knowledge that our customers’ process engineers require, and is a high-level support function with process engineering and equipment characterization components.Essential ResponsibilitiesPerform technical support for all segments of the organizationProvide reactive and proactive technical support for customers including machine and process troubleshootingPerform individually or with peers on scientific or engineering projectsPerform scientific or mathematical analysis and calculationsDesign/conduct/directs complex laboratory experiments/field tests to ascertain hitherto unknown informationInterpret and communicate resultsPrepare detailed scientific reports and comprehensive proposalsContribute ideas which improve our product or processesUnderstand and interpret business and technology trendsPublish technical papers, application notes, manuals and presents seminars to train othersPerform other related duties or similar nature and complexity as directedAdditional ResponsibilitiesEvaluate and interpret technical papers, standards, specifications and emerging technology trends.Reviews and studies professional literature and other wise maintains and improves current technical skillsDiscuss and write about technical issuesProvide guidance and information resources in order to train and develop others.Present technical results and product information at conferences and support of marketing and sales objectivesAbility ToSkills, Knowledge & Ability:Interface, negotiate, and coach customers in technical problems in both proactive and reactive modeApply scientific methods to difficult problemsLogically analyze data and technical informationDesign experiments and statistical process control techniquesResearch informationPrepare technical written reportsMake corrective plans. The range provides the opportunity for growth and progression asyou develop within the role.Base pay is one part of our U.S. total compensation package which includes eligibility in theAxcelis Team Incentive bonus plan, and comprehensive benefits package (for regularemployees working 20+ hours a week).
