Shipping and Receiving Specialist

The Shipper & Receiver's primary responsibility is to manage the daily receipts and shipments for the facility. It includes packaging and labeling of all outgoing material and as well as a transfer of inventory for all incoming products. This role is required to be familiar with forklift operation and proper lifting techniques associated with moving and handling of material.A day in the life of a Shipper & Receiver can look likeObserve and follow safety rules as prescribed by the safety policy. Completes an expected amount of work based on time studies in accordance with schedule. Able to operate all necessary equipment in a proficient manner.Print daily sales receipts and cross-check with computer software to ensure accuracyPrepare and print shipping labels corresponding to shipping needsAssemble and fill boxes and other cartons with items that need to be shippedAffix proper postage to each package in preparation for shippingTrack inventory and report any shortages to sales team so we can update the websiteProcess orders based on the buyer's preferred shipping system (e.g. USPS, UPS, FedEx, etc.)Contact carrier and schedule shipping for each packageMaintain a clean and safe work area and update supplies as neededAll other duties as assigned.We are looking for you to haveHigh school diploma/GED preferred1-3 years experience in retail or e-commerceExcellent organizational and time management skillsAbility to work well in a fast-paced environment with frequently changing dynamicsAbility to lift up to 50 lbs.Solid basic math skills using addition, subtraction, multiplication, divisionAbility to be trained/certified on powered industrial truck (P.I.T.)Understand stock locater systemMust be able to work in the USCompetenciesExcellent communication and follow-up skillsDetail and task orientatedContinuous improvement/innovationMust be able to read and write EnglishAre accountable to othersHave the courage to challenge the status quoAre honest with co-workers and customersAble to be innovative problem solversAre engaged team membersAdd value to the CompanyExpects excellence of self and othersOverserves top customersUnderstands, simplifies and acts to improve processesPhysical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
