DescriptionThe Medical Device Deployment Technician will support a large scale refresh of Capsule Neuron medical devices across active patient care environments. This role is highly hands on and onsite, focused on the physical replacement, configuration, and validation of legacy devices with minimal disruption to clinical workflows.The technician will work closely with internal technical leads to inventory existing devices, stage new hardware, and deploy replacement units across ICU, PACU, OR, clinic, and ambulatory settings.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform onsite replacement of legacy medical devices with new Capsule Neuron devicesRemove existing devices, disconnect cabling and mounts, and install new hardwareReconnect peripherals, manage cabling, and secure devices to existing mountsConfigure device settings (naming, location, basic parameters)Validate network connectivity and confirm communication with backend systemsConduct front end testing to ensure device functionality before sign offParticipate in onsite asset inventory and device counts by locationWork in active patient care areas while adhering to clinical safety and privacy protocolsCollaborate with internal staff to coordinate deployment sequencing and accessDocument completed deployments and report issues as neededRequired Skills & QualificationsHands on experience with IT hardware installation or deploymentSolid technical aptitude and comfort with basic device configurationUnderstanding of basic networking concepts (connectivity testing, ports, cabling)Ability to follow technical deployment procedures with minimal supervisionComfortable performing physical work (lifting, mounting, uninstalling/installing devices)Willingness and ability to work onsite in clinical environmentsDeployment Plan & Project StructureThis role supports a phased, batch based deployment program, not a continuous rollout.Preparation Phase (May):Conduct onsite inventory of existing Neuron devices by locationSupport asset counts and deployment planningGain familiarity with campus layout and clinical areasDeployment Wave 1 (June - Early August):Replace ~500 devices across the main medical campusPerform one for one device swaps: remove, install, configure, validateWork performed weekdays in active patient care areasPlanned Break in Service (Early-Mid August):Deployment pauses due to fiscal year closeAll contractor work must conclude to allow for invoicing and paymentNo active deployment during this periodDeployment Wave 2 (September - November):Replace an additional ~550 devicesWork resumes with new fiscal year fundingFaster ramp up expected for returning techniciansFinal Deployment Wave (January+):Remaining ~550 devices deployed following holiday pauseNote: Continuation is expected across deployment waves; however, brief pauses between phases are planned and driven by funding and hardware delivery timing.Skillshardware installation, network connectivity, it support, Customer service skillsTop Skills Detailshardware installation, network connectivity, it supportPreferred QualificationsAdditional Skills & QualificationsExperience working in healthcare, hospital, or clinical environmentsPrior exposure to medical devices, bedside technology, or device refresh projectsFamiliarity with Capsule Neuron, VitalStream, or ChartExpress platforms (nice to have)Previous asset management or inventory experienceAwareness of working around patients, including sensitive or high acuity areasExperience LevelIntermediate LevelJob Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Houston, TX.Pay And BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
