The candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams to build scalable, efficient, and secure solutions that support various backend functions and services, ensuring seamless integration with other systems and platforms.RequirementsU.S Citizenship required.Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearanceThis position is remote but may require occasional onsite meetings in McLean, VA.You can be based out of following states: AZ, DC, FL, GA, OH, ME, MD, SC, TX, UT, VA, NC, OK, WV.Qualifications And ExperienceBachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.At least 8 years of relevant experience in backend development with a focus on service-oriented architecture.Proficiency with legacy backend technologies including MUMPS (VistA) and JSP-based application layers.Experience with Java frameworks such as Spring, Apache Struts, and Hibernate in legacy service environments.Hands-on experience with IBM ODM and Oracle WebLogic application servers.Familiarity with HL7 data structures and healthcare system integration patterns.Exceptional communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.Preferred QualificationsExperience with cloud-based services and API gateways.Knowledge of microservices architecture and containerization tools like Docker and Kubernetes.Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.ResponsibilitiesService Design and Development:Design, develop, and maintain robust backend services to support web and mobile applications.Ensure services are scalable, secure, and maintainable.Integrate backend services with various internal and external data sources and systems.API Development And IntegrationDevelop RESTful APIs to support backend services.Ensure APIs are well-documented, secure, and optimized for performance.Integrate APIs with third-party services and data sources.Data ManagementDesign, implement, and maintain database structures to support backend services.Optimize database queries and manage data storage solutions.Server-Side LogicDevelop server-side logic, ensuring high performance and responsiveness.Implement security and data protection measures.Manage user authentication and authorization between multiple systems, servers, and environments.System IntegrationCollaborate with frontend developers to ensure seamless integration of services.Coordinate with other teams to understand and fulfill backend requirements.Testing And DebuggingConduct unit and integration testing for backend services.Troubleshoot and debug issues to ensure the highest level of quality.Documentation And Best PracticesCreate and maintain comprehensive documentation for backend services and APIs.Follow best practices in backend development, including code versioning and repository management.Continuous ImprovementStay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies related to backend services.Optimize system performance and enhance functionality based on user feedback and usage patterns.Collaboration And CoordinationWork closely with program management and other stakeholders to ensure backend service requirements are understood and implemented.Participate in code reviews, team meetings, and project planning sessions.Compensation And BenefitsAt NDi, we value our team and are committed to retaining top talent by offering competitive benefits and compensation packages.
