Building/Facilities Maintenance
Position Summary:
In addition to having a passion for helping others, is nonjudgmental, and able to deal with difficult situations in positive and constructive ways, the Maintenance Technician is responsible for the repair and upkeep of the Bybee Lakes HOPE Center, a 155,000 square foot building. This full-time role has a varying schedule that may include an occasional evening and/or weekend, with a starting wage of $18.90 per hour. Benefits include PTO, medical/dental/vision/401k.
Basic construction skills such as carpentry, painting, masonry, plumbing, and roofing
Advanced critical thinking and problem-solving skills for fixing general maintenance issues
Administrative skills for ordering supplies, handling records and scheduling maintenance
Physical strength and dexterity to frequently lift, move and handle equipment, 50+ lbs
Stamina to deal with long hours standing or walking
Strong verbal and written communication for discussing maintenance issues
Ability to work in extreme hot or cold conditions
Organizational and time management skills
Preferred Qualifications
Direct or Lived Experience with homelessness, addiction, and/or low-income populations.
Understanding of the issues surrounding homelessness, chemical dependency, domestic violence, and/or sexual assault
