Estimator

Job Summary:As an Estimator/Inside Sales you will play a crucial role by accurately assessing project requirements, analyzing costs, and providing detailed estimates and proposals for manufacturing projects. Your expertise will ensure that our bids are competitive and aligned with client expectations, while also safeguarding the company’s liability and profitability. Key Responsibilities:Cost Analysis: Analyze project specifications, blueprints, and other relevant documents to determine the scope of work and associated costs.Estimate Preparation: Develop detailed and accurate cost estimates for materials, labor, equipment, and overheads. Ensure estimates are comprehensive and reflective of current market conditions.Bid Proposals: Prepare and present formal bid proposals to clients, including detailed breakdowns of pricing.Vendor Management: Source and evaluate quotes from suppliers and subcontractors to ensure cost-effectiveness and quality standards.Risk Assessment: Identify potential risks and cost drivers associated with projects and propose mitigation strategies.Market Research: Stay updated on industry trends, material costs, and competitive pricing to ensure estimates are accurate and competitive.Documentation: Maintain accurate records of all estimates, changes, and related correspondence. Ensure all documentation complies with company standards and procedures.Client Interaction: Communicate with clients to clarify project requirements, address questions, and provide updates on estimate or proposal status. Physical Requirements:Ability to sit and work at a computer for extended periods of time.Ability to occasionally stand, walk, reach, and bend to retrieve items or move around the office.Ability to occasionally lift up to 15 lbs. to move equipment or carry small parts.Ability to receive detailed information in oral communication, and to make discriminations in sound.Ability to hear and speak clearly for telephone or in-person communication. Qualifications:Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in estimating commercial or industrial manufacturing projects. Experience with boiler combustion control systems is a plus.Technical Skills: Ability to learn new software platforms quickly. Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, etc.). Familiarity with CAD software and reading electrical drawings is an advantage.Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and mathematical skills with the ability to interpret technical documents and perform complex calculations.Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in estimating and documentation.Problem Solving: A natural curiosity to investigate and solve problems.Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively present estimates and proposals to clients and internal teams.Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and build effective working relationships across various departments.
