Vice President of Construction

OverviewA growing and well-established organization is seeking a Vice President of Landscape Construction to lead and scale its construction division. This individual will oversee operations, financial performance, client relationships, and team development, while driving project execution excellence and long-term business growth.This is a key leadership role responsible for ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to high-quality standards, while building a strong, scalable construction platform.Key ResponsibilitiesOversee all aspects of landscape construction projects, including planning, scheduling, labor, equipment, and subcontractor coordination Ensure projects are executed in accordance with contract scope, drawings, and specifications Partner with project managers, estimators, and field leadership to drive efficient execution Manage procurement, vendor relationships, and subcontractor performance Enforce safety standards and ensure compliance with OSHA and company protocols Develop and maintain strong relationships with general contractors, developers, and property owners Serve as a primary point of contact for key clients, ensuring clear communication and satisfaction Support business development efforts by identifying opportunities and contributing to competitive bids Help drive repeat business and expansion into new markets Own division-level P&L, including budgeting, forecasting, and long-term planning Monitor project financials to ensure margin and profitability targets are achieved Review and approve estimates, bids, and change orders Track and report on KPIs including backlog, pipeline, and financial performance Recruit, mentor, and develop project managers, superintendents, and field staff Build a strong internal leadership pipeline and promote career development Establish accountability through performance management and goal setting Foster a culture focused on collaboration, quality, and continuous improvement QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Landscape Architecture, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience) 7+ years of leadership experience in landscape construction, site development, or related construction sectors Proven ability to manage multiple large-scale projects and teams simultaneously Strong financial acumen with P&L responsibility Excellent communication and relationship management skills Working knowledge of site construction practices including hardscape, irrigation, grading, drainage, and planting Experience with project management and estimating software
