SBIRS and the Next‑Gen GEO OPIR ground stations form the backbone of the United States’ missile‑warning architecture.By delivering near‑real‑time, high‑confidence detection of ballistic missile launches and other hostile trajectories, these systems provide life‑saving early warning for the warfighter, enable rapid decision‑making, and support cueing of defensive interceptors and command‑and‑control assets. Your work will directly protect troops, allies, and critical infrastructure worldwide.As Systems Admin You Will Maintain smooth operation of multi-user computer systems, including coordination with network administrators. Set up administrator and service accounts, maintain system documentation, tune system performance, install system wide software and allocate mass storage space. Have experience with both Linux and Windows system administration, including installing, patching, troubleshooting and hardening Linux and Windows operating systems (both bare-metal and virtual machines) Have experience with System Security Implementations. Interact with users and evaluates vendor products. Make recommendations to purchase hardware and software, coordinates installation and provides backup recovery.
