Job Description Title: Mechanical Designer – IndustrialLocation: Remote (Preferred: Lenexa, KS or Lone Tree, CO)Hire Type: Contract to HireSalary: $35–$60/hr (depending on experience/location)Benefits: Medical, dental, visionSterling Engineering is looking for a Mechanical Designer to support industrial projects. This role offers flexibility to work remotely or in-office if located near a preferred office location.Job Duties: Develop 3D equipment models using SmartPlant 3D or similar design softwareSupport early-stage project design and layout developmentCreate and modify P&IDs, schematics, and mechanical drawingsPerform 3D piping design and routingCollaborate across project teams on a variety of industrial projectsQualifications: Minimum 4+ years of mechanical design experience (piping and systems)Experience creating 3D models and design documentationKnowledge of piping support designExperience with data center mechanical systems (chilled water, CRAH, CDU) preferredProficient in SmartPlant 3D (preferred), AutoCAD, or MicroStationProficient in Microsoft Office SuiteEducation: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in CAD or related field preferred with 4+ years of experienceOR High School Diploma/GED with 8+ years of mechanical design experienceQualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, age, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin
