Frozen Food/Dairy Stock Clerk
Stock Clerk PositionThis position serves as a stock clerk primarily for the Frozen Food and Dairy Department stocking the coolers and displays with frozen food and dairy merchandise in the store.Essential duties and responsibilities include:Daily inspection of the frozen food and dairy cases ensuring proper temperatures are maintainedEnsure inventory is sufficiently stocked and displayedEnsure proper signage is on merchandise; work with signage personnel when neededCheck expiration dates of merchandise, removing expired products from displayAssist with the unloading of delivery trucksVerify invoices of merchandise deliveredOperate department equipment and toolsRetrieve, load and unload products and merchandise onto cart to move from back room to displaysProvide continuous attention to customer needs; greet, assist and thank customers in a prompt, courteous and friendly manner.Keep work area clean, orderly, and free from safety hazardsPromptly address maintenance and safety issues with store or department managerReport all accidents promptly to store or department managerPunctuality and good attendance in compliance with company policies; ensure work responsibilities are covered during foreseeable absencesPerforms other work-related duties as required to accomplish the objectives of the positionSecondary duties and responsibilities may include:Train newly hired employees on stock procedures and processMay perform general cleaning duties such as mopping and sweepingReport any equipment malfunctions to store or department managerMay assist store manager on duty in other departmentsMinimum requirements include:High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred; minimum of 18 years of ageAbility to read and speak English and Spanish preferredAbility to understand and follow instructions in both English and Spanish preferredAbility to effectively present information and respond to questions in one-on-one and small group situations with directors, managers, customers (both internal and external) and the general publicGood interpersonal skillsTakes responsibility for own actionsAbility to work hours and days scheduled, including holidays and weekendsBasic math skills and numerical recognitionAbility to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions in written, oral or diagram formDemonstrates accuracy and thoroughnessPhysical demands include:Stand and walkUse fingers and hands to handle or feelReach with hands and arms; repetitive motion with arms and shouldersCarry, lift and/or move departmental products and merchandiseTwist back and neckUse sense of smellTalk and hearClose vision and peripheral visionPush and pull carts of departmental products and merchandiseStoop or bend at the waistCrouch or bend at the kneesKneelClimb ladder or step stoolBalance
