Contractor Director Location: Nashville, TN Reports To: Director / Operations Manager Employment Type: Full-TimePosition SummaryThe Contractor Director is the senior leader responsible for managing a facilities services contract for the State of Tennessee. This role serves as the main point of contact for our client and oversees overall contract performance, daily operations, and stakeholder relationships.This position requires a strong leader who can manage multiple sites, lead teams effectively, and ensure high-quality service delivery.Key ResponsibilitiesContract & Stakeholder ManagementAct as the primary contact between our client and the State of TennesseeEnsure all contract requirements and performance standards are metLead contract startup and transition into full operationsWork closely with state partners to align services with their goalsTrack performance through reporting, metrics, and regular communicationIdentify and resolve operational issues or risks quicklyRecommend improvements and efficiencies to enhance service deliveryManage staffing levels to support operational needsOperations & Team LeadershipLead teams to deliver consistent, high-quality services across multiple locationsSet clear expectations and drive performance through coaching and accountabilityEnsure smooth day-to-day operations and service deliveryPromote a culture focused on safety, teamwork, and continuous improvementWorkforce & CultureBuild a positive and engaged work environmentEncourage accountability, responsiveness, and innovationSupport employee development and long-term growthQualifications & ExperienceBachelor’s degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field5–8+ years of experience in facilities management, construction, or maintenance operationsExperience working with government or public-sector contracts preferredProven ability to manage multi-site operations in a 24/7 environmentExperience leading teams and managing vendorsStrong track record of delivering projects on time and within budgetSkills & CompetenciesKnowledge of building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire/life safety)Strong project management skills (PMP preferred)Experience with CMMS and Microsoft OfficeExcellent communication and leadership abilitiesStrong problem-solving and organizational skillsAbility to adapt, take initiative, and manage multiple prioritiesWillingness to travel and respond to emergencies as neededWorking ConditionsMix of office, remote, and field work with regular travel to sites. May require after-hours or emergency response.
