Advanced Patient Care Technician - CNAJoin a dedicated healthcare team as an Advanced Patient Care Technician (CNA) supporting the delivery of compassionate patient care under the supervision of registered nurses. This role involves assisting with obstetric procedures, providing hands-on care, and communicating vital information to the care team to ensure a smooth and efficient nursing unit operation.Key responsibilities include:Maintaining and stocking supplies, ensuring inventory adequacy and cost-effective use within budget guidelines.Sorting and storing surgical instruments and supplies in designated areas.Supporting family-centered care principles, promoting positive birth and postpartum experiences.Providing clerical support including assembling and disassembling patient charts and answering phones courteously.Operating infant security protocols and entering birth-related data into state databases.Assisting nurses with patient care tasks such as bathing, vital signs, blood glucose monitoring, and newborn care.Transporting patients safely and assisting with positioning and lifting as needed.Participating in patient rounding, staff orientation, and safety drills.Adhering to aseptic techniques and maintaining a safe working environment.Maintaining confidentiality and complying with HIPAA regulations.Education and certification requirements include:High school diploma, GED, or equivalent preferred.Completion of a CNA course and listing on the Nurse Aide Registry required.Verification of Nurse Aide I course completion or equivalent nursing fundamentals.Nurse Aide II-Advanced course preferred and may be offered post-hire.Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification by the American Heart Association required.Completion of Mandatory Reporter training within six months of hire.Experience and requirements include:Ability to perform physical demands of the role reliably.Strong communication skills tailored to patient age and developmental needs.Commitment to ongoing personal growth and knowledge of current healthcare procedures.Adherence to all federal, state, and professional licensure and regulatory training requirements.Maintain regular attendance and a cooperative working relationship with staff and patients.This position offers full-time hours on the 2nd and 3rd shifts with differential pay. The role is based in a regional healthcare setting within the Midwest United States.
