What You’ll Drive (Key Accountabilities + Responsibilities) Own the monthly financial close process and ensure timely, accurate financial statement preparationLead balance sheet completion and accuracy, ensuring all accounts are reconciled monthly in accordance with GAAPServe as the in-house expert on technical accounting standards including ASC 606, ASC 842, and ASC 718Ensure accurate payroll processing—covering pay, taxation, benefits calculations, and reconciliations—in partnership with HRDrive tax compliance across Federal, State, and Local requirements for payroll and sales/use taxImprove AR management, aging, and collections; manage and negotiate AP lead times with key suppliersLead external audit processes, ensuring proper documentation and execution across Finance & AccountingPartner with the VP of Finance, CFO, and Dispatch leadership to prioritize financial strategies aligned with company growthCommunicate and present financial results to key audiences including board meetings, company updates, and investor reportsEstablish short- and long-term action plans for operational efficiency, including cost-saving and revenue enhancement opportunitiesMentor and develop accounting team talent, fostering accountability, inclusion, and high performanceWhat You Bring (Required Skills & Experience)Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting experiencePrior experience mentoring, managing, or leading high-performing teamsDeep expertise in GAAP, financial close processes, and balance sheet managementStrong technical accounting knowledge (ASC 606, ASC 842, ASC 718, SOX compliance)Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present to senior and executive audiencesProven ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities under tight deadlinesProficiency in NetSuite, Google Suite, and Microsoft SuiteComfortable using AI-based tools for analysis, automation, or decision support (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude, etc.)Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Business, or FinanceBonus Points (Preferred Skills)CPA preferred but not requiredEducationBachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Business, or Finance (or equivalent education/experience)LocationHybrid (Bloomington, MN) or Remote (Eligible States Only)FTE BenefitsHealth Insurance: Comprehensive medical plans, including a $0 cost option for individuals.Dental and Vision Insurance: Full preventive care coverage.401(K) with Match: Dispatch matches 50% of employee contributions up to 6%.Paid Parental Leave: 4 weeks of paid time off for welcoming a new family member.Flexible PTO: We require a minimum of 10 days off per year to reset and refuel, with more time available based on team priorities and manager approval.Professional Development: Reimbursement of up to $500 annually.Technology Stipend: Monthly stipends for remote work essentials.And so much more…Voted One Of America’s Best Startup Employers By Forbes, Dispatch Thrives On Our Commitment To Strong Company Culture And Our Five Core Values Care – We treat our people, customers, and drivers with empathy and respect.
